About Air Tool Match
What this site does, where its figures come from, and what it deliberately leaves out.
What the site does
Air Tool Match puts an air tool's published air consumption next to a compressor's published output, at the same pressure, so the two figures can be read on one scale. It compares numbers that manufacturers have already published. It does not generate new ratings, estimate performance, or recommend equipment.
The site is preparing for public launch. The matcher, the records behind it, and the guides are live for review. Analytics, advertising, and a public contact channel are not yet in place; each is listed below as a pre-launch item so nothing on the site implies more than exists.
Where the figures come from
Every tool and compressor record is transcribed by hand from the manufacturer's own specification page. Each record keeps the exact label the manufacturer used (for example Average Air Consumption, Air Consumption @ Load, CFM, or SCFM), the pressure it was stated at, a link to the source page, and the date the page was read.
The full list is on the homepage under the records heading. If a source page changes after the checked date, the record may be out of date until it is re-read. The site does not alter, convert, or normalize a manufacturer's figure.
What the matcher will not do
- It compares two figures only when both are stated at the same PSI and the compressor figure is labelled CFM. Otherwise it says the figures cannot be compared and gives no result.
- It does not treat CFM, SCFM, ACFM, or displacement CFM as interchangeable.
- It does not size a compressor, judge tank or receiver adequacy, apply a safety factor, or advise on duty cycle, hose, electrical supply, installation, or pressure safety. Those decisions need a qualified professional.
Independence
Air Tool Match is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any manufacturer named on the site. Manufacturer and product names are used only to identify the source of a published figure. Trademarks belong to their owners.
At the time of writing the site earns nothing and has no affiliate, advertising, or sponsorship relationship. If that changes, this page and the privacy page will say so.
Pre-launch items
These are not yet in place and are stated here so the site does not imply otherwise:
- A public contact address.
- Web analytics and the disclosure that goes with it.
- Advertising. Article pages reserve labelled space for it, and the space is empty until a network is added.
- Live-domain verification for the registered domain and public hosting.
